Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in good standing
• At least 1 year of recent Emergency Department or emergency room nursing experience
• Current RN certification and credentials required for clinical practice
• Ability to provide safe, effective patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting
• Strong patient assessment, triage, prioritization, communication, and critical-thinking skills
• Availability to work scheduled 12-hour night shifts throughout the travel nursing assignment

Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Assess, triage, and prioritize patients presenting with emergent and urgent medical conditions
• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to a diverse Emergency Department patient population
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and respond promptly to clinical needs
• Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with established protocols
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to support timely evaluation and treatment
• Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and discharge or admission planning accurately
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, follow-up care, and discharge instructions
• Maintain a safe, organized, and patient-centered environment during high-volume night shifts
