Experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurses (RNs) can join a fast-paced acute care hospital emergency department in Coos Bay, Oregon. This 13-week travel nursing opportunity is ideal for an ER nurse who provides skilled, compassionate care to patients with diverse and urgent medical needs. Located along Oregon’s scenic southern coast, Coos Bay offers a welcoming community, beautiful coastal views, and easy access to outdoor recreation.
Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910–$2,010
- Specialty: Emergency Room Nursing / Emergency Department Nursing
- Location: Coos Bay, Oregon
- Shift: 12-hour evening/night shift, 2:00 p.m.–2:00 a.m.
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
- Assignment Dates: October 1, 2026–December 31, 2026
- Work Setting: On-site acute care hospital emergency department
Emergency Room RN Job Requirements
- At least 3 years of Emergency Room RN or Emergency Department RN experience required
- Recent emergency room nursing experience required
- Recent acute care hospital experience within the past 5 years required
- Active Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required, or obtained within 6 months of hire
- American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurses Association Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (ENPC) certification required, or obtained within 1 year of hire
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification required, or obtained within 1 year of hire
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification or equivalent preferred
- Organization-approved workplace violence prevention training required, or completion by the last day of the month following the 90-day grace period
Emergency Department RN Responsibilities
- Provide timely, safe, and compassionate nursing care to patients presenting with emergent and urgent conditions
- Perform focused emergency nursing assessments, monitor patient status, and promptly communicate changes to the care team
- Prioritize patient needs and coordinate care in a high-acuity, fast-paced emergency department
- Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with provider orders, clinical protocols, and nursing standards
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to support effective diagnosis and treatment
- Educate patients and families regarding care plans, treatments, discharge instructions, and follow-up needs
- Maintain accurate electronic health record documentation and support continuity of care during patient transitions
- Respond effectively to medical emergencies while upholding patient safety, professionalism, and infection prevention standards
