- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910–$2,010
- Schedule: 36 hours per week; three 12-hour night shifts
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Assignment Dates: November 2, 2026–February 1, 2027
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Weekend and Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and every other holiday
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
- Unit Capacity: 12-bed PCU
- Charting: Epic
- Call: No on-call requirements
PCU RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing and eligibility to practice in Delaware
- At least 1 year of recent acute-care, progressive-care, or stepdown nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and clinical judgment skills
- Ability to work scheduled nights, alternating weekends, and alternating holidays
Progressive Care Unit RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for stepdown and intermediate-care patients during 12-hour night shifts
- Monitor patients with complex medical and cardiac conditions and promptly identify changes in clinical status
- Care for patients with arterial lines, chest tubes, and post-cardiac-catheterization needs
- Safely administer and monitor titratable and high-alert infusions, including insulin, amiodarone, diltiazem, nicardipine, and phenylephrine
- Complete focused and comprehensive patient assessments, medication administration, care planning, and accurate documentation in Epic
- Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate treatment and promote positive patient outcomes
- Float to medical-surgical or medical-surgical telemetry areas as needed
- Educate patients and families while supporting a safe, compassionate care environment
