Seeking an experienced Outpatient Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel nursing contract in Janesville, Wisconsin. Outpatient Dialysis RN Job Requirements
- Active, current Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 1 year of professional RN experience; outpatient dialysis or hemodialysis experience is strongly preferred
- American Heart Association Provider-Level BLS certification
- American Heart Association Provider-Level ACLS certification
- Verified nursing education
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and patient-safety skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare team members
Outpatient Dialysis RN Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care to patients receiving outpatient dialysis services.
- Utilize the nursing process to assess patient needs, develop individualized care plans, deliver interventions, and evaluate outcomes.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, standards of care, and Wisconsin nursing regulations.
- Monitor patient status and respond appropriately to changes in condition throughout dialysis treatment.
- Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care outcomes according to established standards.
- Provide patient and family education related to dialysis treatment, care plans, and ongoing health needs.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to support each patient’s longitudinal plan of care.
- Participate in department performance-improvement activities and shared-governance initiatives as appropriate.
- Apply critical thinking to promote patient safety and a positive patient experience, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command.
- Offer clinical expertise and guidance to other units and departments when needed.
