Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Location: Appleton, Wisconsin
• Start Date: October 26, 2026
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour nights, approximately 5:30 PM–6:00 AM
• Weekend Requirement: Up to every other weekend; candidates open to every weekend may be considered
• Holiday Requirement: Holiday rotation as needed
• Call Requirement: None
• Orientation: Eight hours
• Floating: Float across medical-surgical units and nearby clinical locations according to staffing needs; placement may change with advance notice
• Patient Assignment: Approximately 1:5–6, with support from LPN or CNA staff based on acuity
• Scrub Color: Black

Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements

• Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse license
• At least 3 years of RN experience, including at least 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required; at least one completed travel contract strongly preferred
• American Heart Association BLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• American Heart Association ACLS certification preferred
• Recent Epic charting experience within the past year
• Associate degree or nursing certificate required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Ability to work independently, manage change effectively, and float between units and locations
• Must provide care within demonstrated clinical competencies and skill set

Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients across multiple inpatient units
• Care for patients with medical-surgical, general surgical, oncology, renal, cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, trauma, and complex medical conditions
• Monitor and care for patients experiencing conditions such as CHF, COPD, stroke, DKA, CIWA-related needs, and post-procedural recovery
• Support patients before and after cardiac catheterization, pacemaker procedures, and other surgical or diagnostic interventions
• Recognize changes in patient condition, prioritize interventions, and escalate concerns promptly
• Administer medications, complete assessments, manage care plans, and accurately document in Epic
• Collaborate with providers, LPNs, CNAs, therapy teams, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Adapt quickly to changing assignments and staffing needs while maintaining high standards of patient care
• Participate in weekend and holiday coverage according to the assignment schedule
