Travel Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg Float Team in Green Bay, Wisconsin

Join a collaborative Med/Surg Float Team in Green Bay, Wisconsin, for a 13-week travel nursing contract. This Travel Registered Nurse opportunity offers diverse adult patient care experience across observation, cardiac, medical, surgical, orthopedic/neuro, inpatient rehabilitation, and transitional care units. Travel Nursing Job Details

  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks, ending January 9, 2027
  • Hours: 36–48 hours per week
  • Shift: 12-hour variable shifts, including approximately 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.; primarily nights based on assignment needs
  • Call: None
  • Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Every weekend and holiday rotation
  • Orientation: 8 hours
  • Float Expectations: Float within your demonstrated skill set, with efforts to maintain assignments in one or two comparable units

Travel Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact RN license
  • At least 1 year of recent general Medical-Surgical nursing experience; 1–2 or more years preferred
  • Associate degree or nursing certificate required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred at submission and required by the end of orientation; training may be completed before that deadline
  • Demonstrated experience with venipuncture and Cardizem
  • Experience with ports, Foley and straight catheterization, and stable intravenous drips
  • Recent Epic charting experience strongly preferred, ideally within the past two years
  • Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
  • Adaptability, resilience, strong time-management skills, and a collaborative approach to floating between units
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the assignment location

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to adult patients across a variety of inpatient and observation settings
  • Float among cardiac, medical, surgical, orthopedic/neuro, observation, inpatient rehabilitation, and transitional care units according to staffing and patient-care needs
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, administer medications, monitor patient responses, and communicate changes in condition promptly
  • Provide care for patients with medical-surgical diagnoses, postoperative needs, cardiac conditions, stable drips, and other complex but appropriate patient-care needs
  • Complete venipuncture, port access and care, Foley and straight catheterization, and other applicable bedside nursing procedures
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic and follow established clinical standards
  • Collaborate with providers, rehabilitation professionals, nursing colleagues, patients, and families to support positive patient outcomes
  • Participate in weekend and holiday rotations while maintaining flexibility across variable day and night assignments
