You will work on a 29-bed combined Oncology/Medical-Surgical inpatient unit with approximately 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratios and support from nursing assistants.

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800–$1,890
• Start Date: June 8, 2026
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks, with 8- or 17-week options available
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Shift: 6:45 PM–7:15 AM
• Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week; orientation hours are not guaranteed, and the first orientation week will be on day shift
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Work 2 of 3 holidays
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:6
• Uniform: Caribbean blue or white

Oncology/Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Oncology/Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Active Georgia RN license or compact RN license
• Associate degree in nursing or nursing certificate required; bachelor's degree preferred
• Chemo certification required
• AHA BLS certification required
• AHA NIHSS certification required
• AHA ACLS certification highly preferred
• Current experience with Meditech Expanse required; HCA Meditech experience does not meet the requirement
• At least one completed travel nursing assignment required
• Demonstrated experience with peripheral IV insertion, sickle cell management, tracheostomy care, and tracheostomy management

Travel Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult Oncology and Medical-Surgical patients in an inpatient setting
• Care for patients receiving active chemotherapy and those with complex medical conditions
• Support patients experiencing sickle cell crises, including frequent pain assessments and timely interventions
• Operate PCA pumps and evaluate patient response to pain-management interventions
• Recognize and escalate barriers to effective pain control and changes in patient condition
• Perform peripheral IV insertions and provide tracheostomy care and management
• Administer medications and chemotherapy according to established standards and protocols
• Complete accurate assessments, documentation, care planning, and patient education using Meditech Expanse
• Collaborate with providers, nursing assistants, and the interdisciplinary care team to promote safe, coordinated care
• Float as needed to acute-care areas, cardiac care, emergency patient holds, and an additional nearby campus to support patient-care needs
