This 13-week travel nurse assignment is ideal for a resilient, adaptable Registered Nurse who is comfortable caring for observation patients, managing cardiac drips, interpreting telemetry, and supporting frequent admissions and discharges. You will work alongside an experienced healthcare team while floating to inpatient units as needed.

Travel Nursing Job Details

- Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week, subject to orientation and assignment guidelines
- Weekend and Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and every other holiday
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
- Charting: EPIC
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse license
- At least 3 years of relevant nursing experience in cardiac stepdown, intermediate care, telemetry, or a comparable setting
- At least 1 completed travel nursing assignment
- Associate degree or nursing certificate
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- EPIC charting experience
- Strong telemetry skills with the ability to read and interpret cardiac strips
- Ability to successfully complete an EKG examination during compliance
- NIHSS certification is highly preferred
- Adaptability, resilience, strong organization, and a collaborative approach to patient care
Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to observation and intermediate-care patients with stays of up to 48 hours.
- Care for patients with conditions including anemia, cellulitis, COPD, dehydration, and pre- and post-operative urology and GI needs.
- Monitor and manage cardiac and other specialty infusions, including Cardizem, nitroglycerin, insulin, and heparin drips.
- Perform frequent assessments, interpret telemetry findings, and promptly communicate changes in patient status.
- Manage a high volume of admissions, transfers, and discharges while maintaining accurate documentation in EPIC.
- Float to inpatient units as needed, including intermediate care and cardiac-focused units.
- Collaborate with providers, ancillary departments, patients, and families to support safe, efficient care.
- Demonstrate flexibility and a positive attitude when priorities or patient assignments change throughout the shift.
