• Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
• Shift: Mids, 11:00 a.m.–11:00 p.m.
• Weekend and Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Call Requirement: No call
• Float Requirement: Floating is not required
• Orientation: 12 hours

Emergency Room RN Job Requirements

• At least 3 years of recent Emergency Room or emergency department nursing experience
• Active Indiana or Compact State Registered Nurse license
• Associate degree or nursing certificate required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, and NIHSS certifications
• Successful completion of a 12-lead EKG and dysrhythmia examination
• Recent Epic electronic health record (EHR) charting experience within the last year
• Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Pediatric emergency care experience preferred
• Ability to work every other weekend and holiday according to the rotation schedule
• Reliable, resilient, adaptable, and compassionate approach to emergency patient care
• Candidates must reside outside the applicable 40-mile local radius
• Navy blue scrubs required

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Deliver timely, evidence-based nursing care to patients presenting with a broad range of emergency conditions
• Perform focused nursing assessments, monitor patient status, and promptly identify changes in condition
• Prioritize care effectively in a high-acuity, fast-paced emergency department
• Recognize and respond to cardiac rhythms, dysrhythmias, and other urgent clinical changes
• Administer medications and treatments safely while following established emergency care protocols
• Collaborate with emergency physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary care team to support positive patient outcomes
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in Epic
• Provide clear communication, patient education, and emotional support to patients and families
• Maintain a calm, professional presence while managing frequent changes in patient needs
