Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,370–$2,500
• Specialty: Home Health Nursing
• Location: Wausau, Wisconsin, with potential limited travel to surrounding service areas
• Start Date: October 26, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 40 hours per week; 8-hour day shifts, generally 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with some flexibility based on census
• Weekend and Holiday Rotation: Approximately every fifth weekend and holiday
• On-Call: Approximately 2–3 times per month
• Patient Visits: Approximately 4.5 visits per day, with an average caseload of 20–25 patients
• Travel Area: Daily travel may range from approximately 25–60 miles depending on territory and census
• Additional Information: Mileage reimbursement is provided according to the applicable government-approved rate

Home Health RN Job Requirements

• Active Wisconsin RN license or a valid compact RN license
• At least 2 years of recent home health nursing experience
• Prior travel nursing experience is required
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Valid driver’s license
• OASIS certification or demonstrated OASIS experience strongly preferred
• Experience with Epic Remote Client or Remote Care preferred
• Associate degree or nursing certificate required; bachelor’s degree preferred
• Ability to work independently while demonstrating strong time management, accountability, resilience, adaptability, and compassion
• Ability to meet applicable seasonal vaccination, masking, and workplace safety requirements

Home Health Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver skilled nursing care to patients in their homes throughout the assigned Wausau, Wisconsin, service area
• Complete OASIS admissions, reassessments, and required time-point documentation
• Manage patient episodes and coordinate care with providers, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members
• Respond to physician calls and communicate changes in patient condition promptly
• Perform wound care, IV and port care, laboratory draws, and chronic disease management
• Document patient care accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record
• Plan daily home health visits efficiently while maintaining high standards of clinical quality and patient safety
• Provide patient and family education and emotional support to promote independence and positive outcomes
• Participate in scheduled weekend, holiday, and on-call rotations
• Support nearby service areas such as Medford, Antigo, or Wisconsin Rapids when operational needs require
