Medical-Surgical Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Float Team | 13-Week Assignment in Green Bay, Wisconsin

Join a collaborative hospital-based float team as a Medical-Surgical Travel Registered Nurse in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This on-site travel nursing assignment is ideal for an experienced RN with BLS certification who is ready to support multiple inpatient units and expand clinical experience across medical, surgical, cardiac, observation, orthopedic/neuro, rehabilitation, and transitional care settings. Travel Nursing Job Details

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,370–$2,500
  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks
  • Start Date: October 12, 2026
  • End Date: January 9, 2027
  • Nursing Schedule: 8-hour evening shifts, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
  • Hours: 36–48 hours per week; overtime after 48 hours
  • Weekend and Holiday Schedule: Every other weekend with holiday rotation
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Healthcare Setting: On-site hospital-based Medical-Surgical Float Team
  • Float Expectations: Float within demonstrated competencies to observation, cardiac, medical, surgical, orthopedic/neuro, inpatient rehabilitation, and transitional care units
  • Orientation: 8 hours; guaranteed weekly hours may vary during orientation

Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin or a valid compact-state RN license
  • At least 1 year of general Medical-Surgical nursing experience; 1–2 or more years preferred
  • Associate degree or nursing certificate required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred at submission and required by the end of orientation; training may be completed during orientation
  • Recent experience with Epic electronic health record documentation strongly preferred
  • Clinical experience with venipuncture and Cardizem required
  • Experience with ports, Foley and straight catheterization, and stable intravenous drips preferred
  • Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to adapt to floating across multiple inpatient units and changing patient-care needs
  • Applicants must reside outside the applicable 50-mile local radius for this travel assignment

Medical-Surgical RN Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult patients across medical-surgical and related inpatient units
  • Assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes
  • Administer medications and manage stable intravenous drips according to clinical standards
  • Perform venipuncture, port care, Foley catheterization, and straight catheterization as indicated
  • Monitor for changes in patient condition and promptly communicate concerns to the appropriate care team
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Epic
  • Float between assigned units while maintaining high standards of patient care, organization, and time management
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nursing colleagues, patients, and families to support positive outcomes
  • Demonstrate resilience, professionalism, flexibility, and a willingness to manage change in a fast-paced hospital environment
