Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Wausau, Wisconsin
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,110–$2,220
- Assignment Length: 8 weeks
- Start Date: December 7, 2026
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
- Hours: 36 guaranteed hours per week, excluding orientation and certain holiday closures
- Weekend and Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and every other holiday
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:4–5 on days and 1:6–7 on nights
- Charting System: Epic EMR
- Scrub Color: Any color
Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements
- Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- At least 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience
- Associate degree or nursing certificate required
- Prior Epic charting experience
- Trauma Level II experience highly preferred
- Ability to work night shifts and participate in the required weekend and holiday rotation
- Adaptability, resilience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult Medical-Surgical and acute care patients
- Assess patients, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate outcomes
- Care for patients with respiratory illness, stroke, neurological disorders, gastrointestinal conditions, diabetes, renal failure, sepsis, wound care needs, infectious diseases, and other acute medical diagnoses
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with provider orders and nursing standards
- Monitor patients for changes in condition and communicate concerns promptly
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the Epic EMR
- Float to inpatient units as needed and adapt effectively to changing assignment needs
- Collaborate with providers, ancillary staff, patients, and families to promote positive outcomes and an excellent patient experience
