Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,450–$2,580
- Specialty: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) – General Team
- Location: Wausau, Wisconsin
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- Schedule: 40 hours per week
- Shift: 8-hour day shifts with variable start times, including approximately 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m., and 11:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
- Call Requirement: Approximately 6–8 weeknight call shifts and 1–2 weekend call shifts during the contract; holiday rotation may apply
- Call Response: Must be prepared to arrive in the operating room within 30 minutes when called in
- Charting: Epic experience preferred
- Scrub Attire: Any color
Operating Room Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 5 years of recent Operating Room nursing experience
- At least 1 previous travel nursing assignment
- Associate degree or nursing certificate required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications
- Strong circulating experience required; scrub experience preferred
- Recent experience in a large surgical facility with comparable operating room volume
- Da Vinci robotic surgery experience required
- Trauma Level II experience required
- Ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and contribute to downtime tasks as needed
- Reliable personal vehicle required because of on-call responsibilities
Travel OR Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care throughout the perioperative experience
- Circulate surgical procedures in a high-volume operating room department
- Support a broad range of cases, including general surgery, gynecology, urology, plastics, ENT, and gastrointestinal procedures
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and the multidisciplinary care team
- Prepare operating rooms, verify equipment and supplies, maintain sterile technique, and promote patient safety
- Respond to scheduled and emergency call assignments within the required timeframe
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record
- Demonstrate resilience, professionalism, flexibility, and a strong work ethic in a dynamic surgical environment
