Travel Nursing Job Details
- Specialty: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN), perioperative nurse

- Healthcare Setting: Operating room supporting orthopedic, medical-surgical, OB, inpatient, and outpatient procedures
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 26, 2026
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,370–$2,500
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week, excluding applicable orientation and facility holiday closures
- Schedule: Four 10-hour day shifts per week with rotating start times, typically 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m. or 6:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
- Call Schedule: One weekday overnight call shift per week and one weekend call period approximately every six weeks
- Electronic Medical Record: Current Epic experience within the past six months
- Dress Code: Blue scrubs provided
Operating Room RN Job Requirements
- Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
- Associate degree or nursing certificate required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- At least 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience
- Previous travel nursing assignment experience preferred
- Experience working in a full-service operating room across multiple surgical service lines
- Demonstrated ability to manage emergency situations and changing priorities
- Current Epic charting experience
- Strong communication, teamwork, resilience, and adaptability
- Ability to float within appropriate clinical competencies and support nearby units or locations as needed
Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, effective perioperative nursing care for orthopedic, medical-surgical, OB, inpatient, and outpatient procedures
- Serve as an operating room circulator for total knee and total hip replacements, cataract procedures, and C-sections
- Demonstrate proficiency with orthopedic procedures and the orthopedic Hana table
- Support a high-volume orthopedic service line representing a significant portion of surgical activity
- Assist with emergency surgical cases and maintain composure in rapidly changing situations
- Participate in charge nurse responsibilities and help coordinate operating room workflow
- Provide 24/7 coverage through scheduled weekday and weekend call assignments
- Accurately document patient care and perioperative activities in Epic
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, nurses, and multidisciplinary team members to promote quality patient outcomes
- Float to appropriate units or nearby locations based on census and organizational needs while remaining within established clinical competencies
