Travel ICU RN Job Details
- Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Critical Care Nursing
- Location: Stevens Point, Wisconsin
- Contract: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 5, 2026
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,110–$2,220
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour nights, approximately 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- Weekend and Holiday Schedule: Every other weekend with holiday rotation
- Unit Environment: A 32-bed unit providing ICU, stepdown, and medical-surgical levels of care
- Charting: Epic electronic medical record (EMR)
- Additional Scheduling: Potential for low-census on-call assignments and floating to medical-surgical or nearby regional units. Call-back assignments have a two-hour minimum.
- Dress Code: Professional-colored scrubs
ICU Travel Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Wisconsin or compact Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate degree or nursing certificate required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- At least 2 years of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Medical-surgical ICU experience preferred
- Recent Epic documentation experience required
- Ability to adapt to changing patient volumes, float assignments, and varying levels of care
- Ability to comply with seasonal health and safety policies, including masking requirements when applicable
ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in an ICU setting
- Perform ongoing patient assessments, identify changes in condition, and initiate appropriate interventions
- Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient response
- Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and carry out individualized plans of care
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in Epic
- Support safe transitions between ICU, stepdown, and medical-surgical levels of care
- Float to designated units or regional locations when operational needs require
- Participate in weekend, holiday, on-call, and call-back coverage according to the assignment schedule
- Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and evidence-based critical care practices
