Join a dedicated critical care team as a Travel ICU Registered Nurse in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. This 13-week travel nursing contract is ideal for an experienced CVICU nurse with Day 0 CVICU expertise who is comfortable caring for both CVICU and Critical Care Unit (CCU) patients. Located along the I-70 corridor between Denver and Grand Junction, Glenwood Springs offers stunning Rocky Mountain scenery, outdoor recreation, and a welcoming community atmosphere.
Travel Nursing Job Details

- Location: Glenwood Springs, Colorado
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470–$2,600
- Start Date: October 27, 2026
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks, through January 26, 2027
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
- Schedule: 36 hours per week, including weekend rotation
- Call Requirement: Participation in the call rotation, including one call shift per two-week period when requested for staffing needs; the call shift may replace guaranteed hours for that week
- Position Type: Travel nursing contract
CVICU Travel Nurse Job Requirements
- At least 3 years of recent Registered Nurse experience in critical care
- Strong CVICU nursing skills with Day 0 CVICU experience required
- Experience caring for cardiovascular and critically ill patients, with the ability to support the CCU as needed
- Active Colorado RN license in good standing
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association
- Current PALS certification through the American Heart Association
- Current influenza vaccination required from October 1 through April 1; no exemptions or declinations accepted
- Travel nurses must maintain a permanent residence at least 75 miles from the assignment location
ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the CVICU and CCU during overnight shifts
- Monitor hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, ventilatory needs, and other critical care indicators
- Recognize changes in patient condition and implement timely clinical interventions
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Safely administer medications, titrate critical care therapies, and manage complex cardiovascular patients
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate effectively during patient handoffs
- Participate in weekend coverage and the rotating call schedule as assigned
- Support a community-focused care environment dedicated to helping patients receive high-quality care close to home
