Travel RN Job Details
- Specialty: Long-Term Acute Care Registered Nurse (LTAC RN)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,770–$1,870
- Location: Durham, North Carolina

- Schedule: Three 12-hour day shifts per week
- Hours: 36 hours per week

Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in North Carolina
- At least 1 year of bedside nursing experience required; 2 years of bedside clinical experience highly preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required before the first shift
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required based on unit and patient-care needs
- Demonstrated ability to assess, prioritize, and manage care for medically complex patients in an LTAC or acute care setting
- Strong communication, organization, delegation, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
- Commitment to patient safety, infection prevention, professional conduct, and accurate clinical documentation
LTAC Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive nursing assessments within required timeframes and develop individualized plans of care
- Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and communicate pertinent updates promptly to appropriate members of the healthcare team
- Participate in interdisciplinary conferences and contribute timely information to support coordinated care planning
- Provide patient and family education based on identified health needs and anticipated discharge goals
- Initiate discharge planning from admission and support patients as they work toward improved function and transition readiness
- Delegate appropriately while providing direction, training, and supervision to nursing support personnel
- Promote safe patient handling, infection prevention, fall prevention, and a safe work environment
- Maintain accurate, timely, and concise documentation in the electronic medical record
- Prioritize care effectively, manage time and resources responsibly, and contribute to a positive team environment
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities following orientation when requested and participate in ongoing professional development
