Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,180–$2,290
- Location: Parkersburg, West Virginia
- Healthcare Setting: Acute care cardiac stepdown and progressive care
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts; weekends as scheduled
- Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks, ending February 1, 2027
- Charting: EPIC electronic health record
- Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse assignment
Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in West Virginia
- At least 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience, preferably in cardiac stepdown, telemetry, progressive care, or a related acute-care setting
- Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
- Strong cardiac assessment, prioritization, communication, and clinical judgment skills
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and weekends as scheduled
- Comfort with electronic health record documentation, including EPIC
Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from cardiac and other complex medical conditions
- Perform focused cardiac assessments and continuously monitor patient status for changes or deterioration
- Interpret and respond to telemetry findings within the scope of practice
- Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring for therapeutic effects and adverse reactions
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
- Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care coordination accurately in EPIC
- Respond promptly to changes in condition and initiate appropriate interventions and escalation procedures
