Travel NICU RN Job Details
- Position: NICU Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: Voorhees, New Jersey
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Start Date: November 9, 2026
- End Date: February 8, 2027
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,360–$2,480
- Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.; three 12-hour shifts per week
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Healthcare Setting: On-site, 46-bed Level III NICU
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:2
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: One winter holiday and one summer holiday during the assignment
- Call: No on-call requirement
- Floating: Willingness to float among five designated area hospitals within the nurse’s skill set based on staffing needs
- Scheduling Notes: Block scheduling is not available. Requested time off must be submitted with the application, and time off during the first week is not permitted.
NICU Travel Nurse Requirements
- At least 2 years of recent NICU nursing experience, preferably within the past 12 months
- Level III NICU experience required
- Experience caring for micro-preemies and managing high-frequency ventilation
- Active Registered Nurse license in New Jersey or a compact state at the time of application
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Recent travel nursing experience is preferred; first-time travelers may be considered
- Epic electronic medical record (EMR) experience preferred
- Ability to complete required pre-employment laboratory testing and orientation requirements
- Professional navy blue scrubs are required
NICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill neonates in a Level III NICU
- Care for micro-preemies and newborns requiring high-frequency ventilation and other advanced neonatal interventions
- Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and promptly communicate clinical concerns
- Administer medications and treatments, perform assessments, and document care accurately in the electronic medical record
- Support family-centered and couplet-care practices while promoting safe, compassionate neonatal care
- Collaborate with neonatologists, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Maintain safe patient ratios and contribute to a positive, professional NICU culture
- Float to designated nearby hospitals as needed while practicing within NICU competencies
