Join a collaborative Birth Center team as an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) in Auburn, Washington. This travel nursing job is ideal for a confident nurse who provides antepartum, intrapartum, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care. Travel Nursing Job Details
- Job Location: Auburn, Washington
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,580–$2,720
- Contract Type: 13-week travel Registered Nurse assignment
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- End Date: January 30, 2027
- Schedule: 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts
- Healthcare Setting: Birth Center with labor and delivery, postpartum, antepartum, operating room, and Level II NICU services
- Unit Overview: 20 total beds, including 12 labor and delivery beds and 8 postpartum/antepartum beds
- Call: No call requirement
- Electronic Medical Record: Epic preferred
- Travelers: First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply
Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Requirements
- At least 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Washington
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Fetal monitoring competency
- Demonstrated ability to provide nursing care throughout labor, delivery, and the postpartum period
- Comfort caring for diverse patient populations; Russian- or Spanish-language skills are preferred
Labor and Delivery Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to antepartum, laboring, and postpartum patients
- Perform cervical examinations and assess maternal and fetal status throughout labor
- Manage fetal monitoring, intravenous therapy, Pitocin infusions, amnioinfusions, and epidural care
- Assist with and circulate Cesarean sections
- Receive and stabilize newborns, including baby catching and immediate newborn assessment
- Perform APGAR assessments and support neonatal transition
- Provide breastfeeding education and support
- Deliver comprehensive postpartum care from transition through discharge for both mother and baby
- Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote positive maternal and newborn outcomes
- Apply scrub skills when needed; scrub experience is a bonus
