Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Cath Lab | CVOR

Join a high-acuity cardiovascular team as a Travel Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse in Chesapeake, Virginia, supporting cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, and cardiovascular procedural services. This on-site travel nursing assignment offers the opportunity to care for adult and geriatric patients while contributing to minimally invasive cardiac procedures within a full-service cardiovascular program.

Travel Nursing Job Details

  • Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing assignment
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,820–$2,970
  • Location: Chesapeake, Virginia
  • Start Date: October 26, 2026
  • End Date: January 25, 2027
  • Schedule: Day shifts, typically scheduled as five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts, with shift times generally falling between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Call: Rotating weekday, weekend, and holiday call; approximately 10–14 call days per month
  • Practice Areas: Cardiac Cath Lab, electrophysiology, Cath Holding, and related cardiovascular procedural services

Cardiac Cath Lab RN Requirements

  • At least 2 years of recent Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse experience
  • Previous experience in critical care, intensive care, cardiac care, or emergency nursing
  • Active Virginia RN license or compact RN license in hand at the time of submission
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Proficiency with Epic electronic health records is required
  • Demonstrated ability to care for adult and geriatric patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures
  • Working knowledge of procedural sedation, hemodynamic monitoring, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and cardiovascular medications
  • Ability to meet travel assignment credentialing, fit-testing, and background requirements
  • Travel candidates must maintain a permanent residence at least 50 miles from the assignment location

Cardiovascular Nursing Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care before, during, and after cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures
  • Prepare patients for procedures, establish and maintain IV access, administer medications, and monitor responses to treatment
  • Monitor procedural sedation, vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and hemodynamic status throughout the patient encounter
  • Assist with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, including left- and right-heart catheterization and percutaneous coronary intervention
  • Support procedures involving cardiac stents, cardioversion, pacemaker insertion, implantable cardiac devices, and other cardiovascular interventions
  • Perform or assist with sheath removal, access-site monitoring, vascular closure systems, and post-procedure recovery
  • Scrub and circulate for procedures as assigned while maintaining sterile technique and infection-prevention standards
  • Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, including dysrhythmias and other procedural complications
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, technologists, and interdisciplinary support teams to deliver coordinated cardiovascular care
