Cardiac Stepdown RN travel nursing opportunity in Springfield, Massachusetts for an experienced Registered Nurse with BLS and ACLS certification. Join a collaborative 42-bed medical-telemetry and intermediate care team during this 13-week, on-site travel contract.

- Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:3 for intermediate care and 1:6 for medical patients

Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Massachusetts
- At least 1 year of recent registered nursing experience; 1–2 years in intermediate care, cardiac stepdown, telemetry, or a comparable setting preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Proficiency caring for patients with tracheostomies, mechanical ventilation, high-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP, cardiac drips, and telemetry monitoring
- Ability to provide safe, effective care for medically complex patients and adapt to changing clinical priorities
- Willingness to float between medical-telemetry and intermediate care areas as needed
Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to medical-telemetry and intermediate care patients
- Monitor and manage patients with pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, DKA, HHS, alcohol withdrawal, GI bleeding, sepsis, pulmonary embolism, urinary tract infections, and respiratory failure
- Assess cardiac rhythms, vital signs, respiratory status, and changes in patient condition
- Administer and titrate cardiac drips and other therapies according to clinical orders and unit protocols
- Provide care for patients requiring tracheostomies, ventilators, high-flow oxygen, and BiPAP
- Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and evaluate individualized care plans
- Safely manage a patient assignment while maintaining accurate documentation and effective communication
- Float between designated areas when needed to support continuity and quality of care
