Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250–$2,370
- Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown / Medical Intermediate Care
- Unit: 42-bed unit with medical telemetry and intermediate care areas
- Location: Springfield, Massachusetts
- Start Date: October 26, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks, through January 24, 2027
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 36 hours per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Work Setting: On-site travel nursing assignment
- Openings: 4
Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible to practice in Massachusetts
- At least 1 year of recent acute-care nursing experience; 1–2 years in intermediate care, cardiac stepdown, or medical telemetry is preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Experience caring for patients requiring continuous telemetry monitoring and cardiac drips
- Experience with tracheostomies, ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP, and other advanced respiratory support
- Ability to float between medical telemetry and intermediate care areas as needed
- Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and teamwork skills
Travel RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in cardiac stepdown, medical telemetry, and intermediate care settings
- Monitor and respond to changes in cardiac rhythm, respiratory status, and overall patient condition
- Care for patients with pneumonia, COPD exacerbations, DKA, HHS, alcohol withdrawal, gastrointestinal bleeding, sepsis, pulmonary embolism, urinary tract infections, and respiratory failure
- Administer and titrate cardiac drips and other prescribed therapies according to established protocols
- Manage patients with tracheostomies, ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula, and BiPAP
- Perform focused and comprehensive nursing assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
- Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate safe, effective patient care
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate significant findings promptly
- Float between unit areas when needed while maintaining high standards of patient safety and nursing care
