Travel RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,950–$2,050
- Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical Nursing
- Location: Tahlequah, Oklahoma
- Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- Duration: Approximately 14 weeks, ending February 6, 2027
- Schedule: Four 10-hour day shifts per week
- Unit: 22-bed medical-surgical department
- Patient Ratio: Typically 1:4, with a maximum of 1:6
- Patient Population: Adult and pediatric patients
- Work Setting: On-site
Medical-Surgical Travel Nurse Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of recent medical-surgical registered nursing experience; 3 years preferred
- Active Oklahoma RN license or valid Compact/Multi-State RN license
- Associate degree in Nursing or equivalent related experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Demonstrated ability to provide safe, compassionate nursing care to pediatric patients
- Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to complete required pre-employment credentialing, background screening, and drug screening
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed
Travel RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to acutely ill adult and pediatric patients and individuals recovering from surgery
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Assess patient conditions, monitor for changes, and escalate concerns promptly
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
- Complete patient admissions, discharges, assessments, and clinical documentation
- Communicate regularly with physicians and the interdisciplinary health care team
- Prioritize care for multiple patients while maintaining quality, safety, and infection-prevention standards
- Support a positive, team-oriented environment on the medical-surgical unit
