Join an experienced clinical team as a Travel Registered Nurse for a 5-week Medical-Surgical and Telemetry travel nursing contract in Burlington, Vermont. This on-site Float Pool opportunity is ideal for a flexible Med/Surg RN who is confident caring for diverse adult patient populations and adapting quickly across hospital units. Travel RN Job Details
- Location: Burlington, Vermont
- Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse contract
- Healthcare Setting: On-site Float Pool supporting Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470–$2,600
- Start Date: October 15, 2026
- End Date: November 19, 2026
- Contract Duration: 5 weeks
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 36 hours per week
- Scheduling: Monday–Sunday coverage; flexible scheduling required, including a minimum of every other weekend as needed
- Orientation: Biweekly Monday orientations

Travel Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Vermont
- At least 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience
- Experience in a large Level I trauma and teaching facility
- Recent Medical-Surgical, Med/Surg, and Telemetry nursing experience
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification completed before the start date
- EPIC electronic health record experience within the past 2 years; this requirement is essential
- Ability to float to hospital units and adult patient populations matching your skills and competency
- Reliable personal or rental transportation, as public transportation is not readily accessible
- Complete work history required; employment gaps longer than 90 days must be explained
Medical-Surgical and Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult patients in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry settings.
- Float across assigned units based on patient census and operational needs; travel nurses may be prioritized for float assignments.
- Support a broad range of clinical areas, including hematology, oncology, orthopedics, general surgery, neurology, neuro step-down, neurosurgery, ENT, and gynecology.
- Care for patients in emergency department boarding and surge areas when assigned.
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, administer medications, monitor telemetry, and recognize changes in patient condition.
- Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate individualized patient care.
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in EPIC.
- Adapt to changing assignments and maintain high standards of patient safety across multiple hospital units.
- Participate in weekend coverage and flexible scheduling without block schedules.
