Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) – Pocatello, Idaho

This 12-week travel RN contract offers night shifts in a 26-bed Emergency Department serving a Level II Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, STEMI-accredited facility, and tertiary care center for southeastern Idaho. Travel Nursing Job Details

  • Position: Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
  • Employment Type: Travel nursing contract

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,660–$1,750
  • Start Date: October 26, 2026
  • Contract Duration: 12 weeks
  • Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
  • Shift Hours: 6:45 p.m. – 7:15 a.m.
  • Weekly Hours: 36
  • Charting System: Epic
  • Weekend Coverage: Weekends required
  • Patient Population: Neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients

Emergency Room RN Job Requirements

  • At least 1 year of recent Emergency Room or Emergency Department registered nursing experience
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Idaho or a compact state, in hand at the time of submission
  • ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required and in hand at the time of submission
  • Recent Epic electronic medical record (EMR) charting experience
  • Experience in a Level II Trauma Center, community hospital, or high-volume Emergency Department preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Ability to care for a diverse patient population in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency care environment
  • Applicants must reside outside the applicable 50-mile local-candidate radius to qualify as travelers

Emergency Department Registered Nurse Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care for patients across the lifespan, from neonates through geriatric populations
  • Perform rapid triage, focused assessments, ongoing reassessments, and timely escalation of changes in patient condition
  • Care for patients experiencing trauma, stroke, STEMI, neurological emergencies, respiratory distress, orthopedic injuries, and other acute conditions
  • Initiate and maintain IV access, administer medications and blood products, and manage continuous infusions as ordered
  • Monitor patients requiring ventilatory support, BiPAP/CPAP, sedation, vasopressors, arterial lines, and central lines
  • Support procedural sedation, dysrhythmia management, ABG interpretation, and emergency stabilization
  • Assist with care for pediatric emergencies, head injuries, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and other complex cases
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic while collaborating with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and other members of the care team
  • Participate in trauma, stroke, and STEMI response processes while maintaining a safe, organized, and patient-centered care environment
