Travel Nursing Job Details

- Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week with rotating days and nights
- Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
- Weekend and Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and every other holiday
Med/Surg RN Travel Nurse Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Massachusetts
- At least 1 year of travel nursing experience
- Experience in medical/surgical nursing, emergency department boarding, observation, or a comparable high-acuity healthcare setting
- Strong patient assessment, prioritization, medication administration, and patient safety skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Comfort working in a high-volume emergency department environment with frequent patient movement and changing priorities
- Ability to complete required assignment credentialing and onboarding requirements
Med/Surg Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients awaiting inpatient placement or continued evaluation in the emergency department
- Care for patients in hallway spaces and designated treatment bays while maintaining safety, dignity, and infection-control standards
- Perform focused and ongoing patient assessments, identify changes in condition, and escalate concerns promptly
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document care in the electronic medical record
- Coordinate patient care across multiple areas by obtaining medications, supplies, and clinical resources as needed
- Collaborate with providers, ancillary departments, and inpatient teams to support efficient patient transitions
- Educate patients and families about care plans, treatments, and discharge or transfer instructions
- Prioritize nursing care effectively in a rapidly changing environment with high patient turnover
