Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: West Seattle, Washington
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910–$2,010
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• End Date: January 30, 2027
• Healthcare Setting: Inpatient behavioral health
• Patient Population: Adults age 18 and older
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours
• Unit Capacity: Approximately 70 beds across two inpatient behavioral health units
• Documentation System: Epic
• Additional Details: May float between the second and third floors; professional scrubs in any color

Psychiatric Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Washington
• At least 1 year of recent experience in an involuntary or inpatient behavioral health treatment setting
• Recent behavioral health nursing or psychiatric nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current de-escalation certification, such as CPI or MOAB
• Ability to perform medical assessments and recognize when a patient’s medical needs require transfer to an acute medical hospital
• Ability to assume charge nurse duties when needed
• Strong communication, crisis-management, teamwork, and patient advocacy skills

Psychiatric Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult patients receiving inpatient behavioral health treatment
• Complete psychiatric and medical assessments, monitor patient status, and identify changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with orders, policies, and professional nursing standards
• Use therapeutic communication and approved de-escalation techniques to support patients experiencing a behavioral health crisis
• Collaborate with behavioral health providers and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Recognize emergent medical needs and coordinate appropriate transfer for higher-level medical evaluation or treatment
• Maintain accurate electronic health record documentation in Epic
• Support a safe therapeutic environment while upholding patient dignity, confidentiality, and rights
• Float between assigned inpatient units and assume charge nurse responsibilities as requested
