Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,110–$2,220
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel contract
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• Location: On-site in Iron River, Michigan
• Unit: 25-bed Medical-Surgical inpatient unit
• Schedule: Variable 12-hour shifts; 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
• Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours per two-week pay period
• Weekend and Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and holiday
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:4–1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights
• Scrubs: Any color
• Floating: Float to the Emergency Department within demonstrated competency
• Call Requirements: None

Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• At least 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Associate degree or nursing certificate required
• Strong clinical documentation and charting experience with Epic EMR
• Experience with CareScape patient monitors and Pyxis preferred
• Emergency Department nursing experience preferred but not required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred but not required
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
• Ability to work variable day and night shifts and participate in the required weekend and holiday rotation

Medical-Surgical Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient nursing care to patients on a 25-bed Medical-Surgical unit.
• Care for primarily geriatric patients with conditions such as congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes, and other medical diagnoses.
• Complete patient assessments, medication administration, care planning, clinical documentation, and ongoing evaluation of patient responses.
• Collaborate with providers, nursing colleagues, ancillary departments, patients, and families to support safe, coordinated patient care.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Epic EMR and follow established medication administration and patient monitoring procedures.
• Float to the Emergency Department when needed and when working within established competencies.
• Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Support a positive patient experience through compassionate, professional, and culturally responsive nursing care.
