Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (Travel RN) – 13-Week Contract

Join a collaborative medical-surgical nursing team in this 13-week LTAC travel contract. You will provide telemetry and complex medical-surgical care in a supportive clinical environment near the scenic foothills and vibrant attractions of the greater Greenville area.

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,710–$1,800
• Location: Travelers Rest, South Carolina, near Greenville
• Healthcare Setting: LTAC medical-surgical and telemetry unit
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• End Date: February 8, 2027
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.; 3 or 4 shifts per week
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend, with scheduling subject to unit needs
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Typical Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Orientation: 24 hours

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
• At least 1 year of recent nursing experience in LTAC medical-surgical/telemetry, medical-surgical, or PCU settings
• At least 1 year of experience using the Epic electronic medical record (EMR)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Strong knowledge of telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, stroke assessment, anticoagulation, and complex medical-surgical nursing care
• Ability to float to qualified units or locations based on census and staffing requirements
• First-time travel nurses may be considered based on relevant clinical experience

Travel RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with complex medical-surgical and telemetry needs.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize clinical changes, and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Administer medications, blood products, insulin therapies, anticoagulants, and other treatments according to established protocols.
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, chest tubes, tracheostomies, feeding tubes, ostomies, Foley catheters, and complex wound care.
• Assess patients with heart failure, renal failure, stroke, pulmonary embolism, pneumonia, gastrointestinal bleeding, and post-myocardial infarction recovery.
• Perform ongoing patient assessments, document care accurately in Epic, and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and other care partners.
• Float to other appropriate units when required while practicing within demonstrated competencies.
