Emergency Room RN Job Details

Travel ER Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin or a compact state, in hand at the time of submission
• Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Current NIHSS certification
• Current PALS certification
• TNCC certification preferred
• Previous Cerner experience strongly preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Ability to complete required facility screening procedures, including a physical examination and drug screen on the first day

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Provide timely, evidence-based nursing care to patients presenting with emergent and urgent medical conditions
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, triage, reassessments, and ongoing monitoring of emergency patients
• Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions, escalation, and emergency response measures
• Administer medications and treatments safely while coordinating diagnostic testing and emergency procedures
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, technicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Deliver patient and family education while promoting a safe, compassionate, and efficient emergency care experience
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, outcomes, and care plans in the Cerner electronic medical record
• Adapt effectively to varied patient acuity, rotating shift times, and the fast-paced emergency department environment
