Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) Travel Contract – Herrin, Illinois

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Herrin, Illinois
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,360-$2,480
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Employment Type: Travel contract
• Healthcare Setting: Operating Room and perioperative services
• Shift: Days; 12-hour shift designation with a posted schedule of approximately 0800-1830, four days per week
• Call Requirements: One weeknight and two weekend days per month; additional call may be needed based on department requirements
• Additional Scheduling: May float to other facilities as needed

Operating Room Registered Nurse Requirements

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience; operating room experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to circulate independently in the Operating Room
• Experience with orthopedic, urology, spine, and robotic surgical procedures preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work on-site, participate in call rotations, and float when needed

OR RN Responsibilities

• Assess patients and identify their physical, mental, and spiritual care needs.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary perioperative team.
• Circulate effectively during a variety of surgical procedures, including orthopedic, urologic, spine, and robotic cases.
• Provide patients and responsible persons with clear explanations and instructions.
• Use nursing clinical judgment to recognize, respond to, and report changes in patient condition.
• Maintain accurate and complete medical records and support required patient-care quality measures.
• Promote a healthy workplace through professional communication and constructive conflict management.
• Participate in continuing education and maintain current clinical competencies.
• Participate in assigned weekday and weekend call coverage.
