Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-Week Contract in Portage, Wisconsin

Join a collaborative critical care team as a Travel ICU Registered Nurse in Portage, Wisconsin. Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Portage, Wisconsin
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,110–$2,220
• Assignment Type: ICU travel contract
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: December 7, 2026
• Schedule: 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.; typically three shifts per week
• Weekend Rotation: Two weekends out of four as needed; Friday/Saturday for night shifts
• Holiday Rotation: Required rotation for designated holidays
• Unit: Medical-surgical intensive care setting with an 11-bed area designated for COVID-19 patients
• Floating: Must be willing to float to nearby affiliated facilities in Stevens Point, Plover, and Riverview
• Orientation: Eight hours; guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation
• Dress Code: Dark blue scrubs
• Time Off: No more than seven days of requested time off can be accommodated

ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
• Minimum of two years of recent intensive care unit (ICU) nursing experience
• Medical-surgical nursing and travel nursing experience required
• Associate degree or nursing certificate
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Demonstrated competency in ICU and Med-Surg nursing
• Ability to work night shifts, participate in weekend and holiday rotations, and float as needed
• Adaptable, resilient, confident, and team-oriented approach to critical care nursing
• Must meet applicable local-radius requirements for the travel nursing assignment

Travel ICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill medical and surgical patients
• Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes in status, and respond promptly to clinical needs
• Manage patients with complex medical conditions, postoperative needs, and surgical recovery requirements
• Administer medications and treatments while maintaining accurate clinical documentation
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and other members of the critical care team
• Support infection prevention and isolation practices, including required masking or vaccination policies during flu season
• Float to designated nearby facilities when operational needs require
• Participate in weekend, holiday, and low-census scheduling processes as assigned
