LTAC Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Ohio
• At least 1 year of bedside clinical nursing experience required; 2 years of bedside experience strongly preferred
• Long-term acute care, acute care, critical care, or rehabilitation nursing experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required before the first shift
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required before the first shift
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and patient advocacy skills
• Ability to safely provide nursing care for patients with complex and changing medical needs

LTAC RN Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive nursing assessments within required timeframes and develop individualized plans of care
• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Monitor patient conditions, identify changes in status, and promptly communicate pertinent information to providers and the interdisciplinary team
• Document assessments, interventions, outcomes, and patient responses accurately and on time
• Participate in interdisciplinary conferences and support continuity of care throughout the patient stay
• Initiate discharge planning upon admission and provide patient and family education to support successful transitions
• Delegate appropriately and provide direction, training, and supervision to nursing support staff
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, safe handling practices, and a secure care environment
• Prioritize care activities, manage time effectively, and contribute to positive patient outcomes
• Collaborate with nursing leadership regarding supplies, equipment, clinical needs, and professional development
• Assume charge responsibilities after orientation when requested
