Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Stevens Point, Wisconsin
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,220–$2,340
• Contract Length: 9 weeks
• Start Date: November 23, 2026
• Nursing Schedule: 12-hour shifts; primarily nights with variable day/night scheduling as assigned
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week, excluding applicable orientation and low-census provisions
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
• Holiday Rotation: Every other holiday
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 4:1
• Electronic Medical Record: EPIC experience strongly preferred
• Unit Environment: Progressive-care and medical-surgical intermediate care with telemetry monitoring

Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin or a valid compact-state RN license
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Cardiac Stepdown, Intermediate Care, Progressive Care, PCU, telemetry, or medical-surgical nursing experience
• At least one successfully completed travel nursing contract
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate degree or nursing certificate
• Ability to adapt to changing assignments, manage a fast-paced workload, and complete nursing tasks independently
• Willingness to float to inpatient units and nearby affiliated clinical locations as needed

Progressive Care Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to cardiac stepdown, intermediate-care, progressive-care, and medical-surgical patients.
• Monitor patients with telemetry needs and promptly recognize changes in clinical condition.
• Care for patients with sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox needs, gastrointestinal bleeding, ostomies, chest tubes, traumatic brain injuries, orthopedic trauma, spinal cord injuries, and stroke.
• Manage patients receiving insulin infusions and other complex therapies according to clinical protocols.
• Perform nursing assessments, administer medications, provide treatments, and document patient care accurately in EPIC.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate treatment, discharge planning, and patient education.
• Float to other inpatient units or assigned affiliated locations based on patient volume and operational needs.
• Participate in rotating weekend and holiday coverage while maintaining a professional, team-oriented approach.
