Travel Nursing Job Details

• Specialty: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) / Perivascular OR Nursing
• Location: Wausau, Wisconsin
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,750–$2,890
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week, subject to orientation, holidays, and unit operating needs
• Shift: Day shift; posted shift duration is 8 hours. The schedule is generally 4 shifts per week with 4x10 scheduling when possible, and 5x8 shifts may be used as needed.
• Call Requirements: Approximately one night of call per week, one weekend per month, and one backup call assignment per week; additional call may occasionally be required
• Response Time: Must be able to report to the operating room within 30 minutes when called in
• Weekend and Holiday Rotation: Every third to fourth weekend and holiday rotation
• Floating: May be required to support other nearby healthcare locations within the regional system
• Charting: Epic experience preferred

CVOR Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
• At least 2 years of operating room nursing experience, including perivascular OR experience
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Demonstrated experience with conscious sedation
• Associate degree or relevant nursing certificate
• Ability to participate in required call, weekend, and holiday rotations
• Adaptable, resilient, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical environment

CVOR Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide safe, specialized perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing vascular, open, and endovascular procedures
• Support the cardiovascular operating room team throughout the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases of care
• Assist with conscious sedation and monitor patients for changes in condition
• Prepare the operating room, verify equipment and supplies, and promote strict surgical safety practices
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other members of the care team
• Respond promptly to scheduled and emergency call-back assignments
• Float to other regional healthcare locations when needed to support continuity of patient care
• Accurately document patient care and perioperative activities in the electronic medical record
• Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, and a positive approach while managing changing clinical demands
