Travel Nursing Job Details

Travel RN Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of combined permanent experience in cardiac stepdown or a closely related specialty
• Current Ohio RN license or compact RN license in hand at the time of submission
• Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required at submission
• One recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty, completed within the past 12 months
• Ability to complete required background screening and onboarding requirements
• COVID-19 and influenza vaccination required; applicable medical or religious exemptions may be considered
• Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition and medication-safety assessments during orientation

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care for patients in a cardiac and cardiovascular surgical stepdown setting
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, monitor patient status, and promptly recognize changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established clinical standards and care plans
• Monitor cardiac status and communicate significant findings to the appropriate members of the care team
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, rehabilitation staff, and other interdisciplinary team members
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, recovery, medications, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and support safe transitions of care
