Emergency Department RN Job Details

• Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)
• Location: Scottsburg, Indiana
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,950-$2,060
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.; every other weekend
• Hours: 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Start Date: September 13, 2026
• End Date: December 12, 2026
• Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license eligible to practice in Indiana
• At least 2 years of Emergency Department RN or emergency nursing experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Epic electronic medical record experience required
• Critical access hospital experience is a plus
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy skills

Emergency Nursing Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and reassessments based on clinical condition and established emergency care protocols.
• Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Monitor, document, and evaluate patient responses to clinical interventions.
• Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered emergency care while promoting safety, comfort, education, and satisfaction.
• Coordinate and evaluate patient and family education throughout treatment and at discharge.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and make sound, timely independent decisions in a fast-paced Emergency Department.
• Delegate appropriately to licensed and non-licensed team members and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
• Support quality improvement, evidence-based nursing practice, regulatory compliance, and patient safety initiatives.
• Serve as a mentor or preceptor and promote ongoing professional development and effective teamwork.
