Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Aberdeen, South Dakota
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,500–$2,630
• Contract: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• End Date: February 8, 2027
• Schedule: Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week
• Shift: 8-hour day shifts with call rotation, including 1–2 call days per week, every 2nd–4th weekend, and rotating holidays
• Clinical Setting: Acute-care perioperative department
• Charting and Systems: Epic electronic health record (EHR) and Pyxis medication system
• Orientation: Department and hospital orientation, equipment and supply training, and additional support based on experience

Operating Room RN Job Requirements

• Active South Dakota Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 2 years of recent Operating Room nursing experience
• BSN required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• PALS certification preferred
• Strong organization, communication, clinical documentation, and time-management skills
• Ability to participate in the required call, weekend, and holiday rotation

Perioperative Nursing Responsibilities

• Circulate surgical cases and support safe, efficient intraoperative patient care
• Pull, prepare, and organize surgical supplies and equipment according to preference cards
• Set up, clean, and turn over operating rooms between procedures
• Provide perioperative nursing support for general surgery, OB/GYN, urology, orthopedics, podiatry, ENT, cardiovascular, and bariatric procedures
• Operate or assist with surgical equipment such as arthroscopic pumps and shavers, cautery machines, lasers, fracture tables, and C-arm imaging equipment
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and promote adherence to operating room safety and infection-prevention standards
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, nurses, surgical technologists, and other members of the perioperative care team
• Provide support across the perioperative department as needed, including pre-op, post-op, outpatient services, and PACU
• Adapt to a 1:1 OR assignment and varying patient needs in adjacent perioperative areas
