Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,930–$2,030
• Location: Waterloo, Iowa
• Healthcare Setting: On-site medical-surgical telemetry unit
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license and eligibility to practice in Iowa
• At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical and telemetry nursing experience
• Experience caring for adult patients with acute and chronic medical conditions
• Strong cardiac rhythm recognition, patient assessment, and clinical prioritization skills
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every third weekend
• Completion of required facility credentialing, competency validation, and onboarding documentation
• Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and independent decision-making skills

Travel Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult patients on a medical-surgical telemetry unit
• Assess patient conditions, recognize changes in status, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established standards and provider orders
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
• Perform ongoing nursing assessments, maintain accurate documentation, and support continuity of care
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge needs
• Promote a safe patient environment and contribute to effective medical-surgical unit teamwork
