Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (PCU RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Mount Vernon, Ohio

This 13-week travel nursing contract offers experienced Registered Nurses the opportunity to provide progressive care, support higher-acuity patients, and gain hospital-based critical care experience in a welcoming Ohio community.

Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910–$2,010
• Location: Mount Vernon, Ohio
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel Registered Nurse contract
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• End Date: February 8, 2027
• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Shift: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.; approximately 36 hours per week
• Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU), with some ICU support
• Float Expectations: May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliated hospitals
• Time-Off Policy: Submit all requested time off with application materials. Holiday time off is limited to one day surrounding one holiday.

PCU RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Ohio
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience; progressive care, telemetry, or critical care experience preferred
• Experience caring for patients requiring close monitoring and higher-acuity nursing care
• Ability to work night shifts and adapt to floating assignments
• Current required nursing credentials and certifications
• Ability to complete required orientation and assignment modules
• Flu vaccination is required; approved medical or religious exemptions may be considered

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a progressive care setting during 12-hour night shifts
• Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes in acuity, and escalate concerns promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely while following established clinical protocols
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and evaluate individualized care plans
• Support patients who may require ICU-level monitoring or care based on unit needs
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record
• Promote patient safety, education, comfort, and continuity of care
• Maintain flexibility when floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliated facility
