Medical Mixed Acuity Registered Nurse (RN) - ME6 Unit
Location: Dayton, OH
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent | Direct Hire
Shift: Days & Nights Available
Compensation
$32.00 - $42.00 per hour
Sign-on Bonus: Up to $10,000 (Nights) / $7,500 (Days)
Relocation Assistance: Available via sign-on bonus after 100 days of employment
Additional Earnings:
- Queue Care Add-On: +$2.00/hr
- Night Add-On: +$2.00/hr
- Night Shift Differential: 15% of base rate
Join a 28-bed Mixed Acuity unit at the region's largest nonprofit hospital system. With a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio (occasionally 1:6 based on acuity), this unit provides care for complex medical and oncology patients, including head and neck cancers, oral cavity, larynx, sinus, sarcomas, melanomas, and post-laryngectomy cases. Patients may require advanced nursing skills such as ventilator support, drips, wound care, and close monitoring.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care for mixed acuity medical and oncology patients
- Manage BiPAP, drips, cardiac monitoring, and complex wound care
- Perform frequent assessments and Q4H vital sign monitoring
- Assist with post-operative and high-acuity cancer patient care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records
Requirements:
- Active RN license
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Will train RNs of all experience levels
- Ability to manage high-acuity, complex patient populations
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and time management skills
