Position Overview

A leading acute care hospital is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager of Surgical Services to provide leadership and operational oversight for a busy perioperative services department. This position offers the opportunity to lead a multidisciplinary team while driving quality outcomes, staff engagement, and operational excellence.

The Nurse Manager will oversee key surgical service areas including the Operating Room, Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR), Anesthesia Services, and Sterile Processing. This leader will support approximately 50 full-time team members and up to 80 staff members including PRN personnel.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and operational oversight for Surgical Services
• Manage staffing, scheduling, productivity, and department performance
• Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Mentor, coach, and develop nursing and perioperative staff
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and hospital leadership
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards
• Promote a positive, patient-centered culture focused on exceptional outcomes

Requirements

• Active RN license
• Minimum of 3 years of Operating Room nursing experience in an acute care setting
• Minimum of 1 year of recent leadership experience OR full-time Charge Nurse, Coordinator, Administrative Supervisor, or Nursing Management experience
• Associate Degree in Nursing required
• BSN preferred
• CNOR certification preferred
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire
• PALS certification required within 6 months of hire
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
