Position Overview
A leading behavioral health organization is seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Registered Nurse to join its inpatient psychiatric care team. This role combines direct patient care with shift-level leadership and provides the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients experiencing behavioral health and substance use challenges.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond appropriately
- Administer medications according to established policies
- Oversee and supervise nursing activities during assigned shifts
- Delegate patient care responsibilities and ensure policies are followed
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team
- Provide compassionate care with empathy, dignity, and respect
- Support treatment planning and ensure quality patient outcomes
Requirements
- Active RN license
- Associate Degree in Nursing required
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience
- Behavioral Health/Psychiatric nursing experience required
- Experience with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, or geriatric psychiatric populations preferred
- CPR and De-escalation certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire
- Strong leadership, communication, and assessment skills
