Position Overview
A Magnet-designated, nonprofit Level II Trauma Center is seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse Manager to lead a large, diverse perioperative service line.
This leadership role oversees the General OR, Cardiac OR, Orthopedic OR, and Ambulatory Surgery Center, including 3 Assistant Nurse Managers and up to 120 FTEs. The Manager has responsibility for clinical operations, staffing, performance, budgets, and department strategy.
Responsibilities
- Direct operations across 4 perioperative areas
- Lead 3 Assistant Nurse Managers and up to 120 FTEs
- Manage operating and capital budgets
- Drive OR utilization, turnover, throughput, and performance improvements
- Partner with surgeons, anesthesia, and hospital leadership
- Develop staff through education, certification, and the Clinical Ladder
- Manage performance evaluations and departmental goals
Requirements
- BSN from a CCNE-accredited program required
- Master's degree preferred
- Active Maryland RN license
- BLS certification
- National certification required
- 3-5 years of progressive OR nursing experience
- Demonstrated supervisory/leadership progression
- Strong fiscal and operational management skills
