Minimum 2+ years recent Emergency Department RN experience required / CERTIFICATIONS – BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS, TNCC, and ENPC or PALS Required / LICENSE – Active RN License Required / Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, 36 hrs/week, 13 weeks (Every Other Weekend) / Setting: Acute Care – Emergency Department Float Pool (Zone 4) / EMR: EPIC / Skills: Emergency nursing, triage, trauma stabilization, stroke and STEMI assessment, cardiac monitoring, EKG interpretation, point-of-care testing, emergency medication administration, and care of adult and pediatric emergency patients required / Unit Details: Multi-facility ER Float Pool covering St. Catherine Garden City, St. Catherine Dodge City, and Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital / Ratios: 1:4–5 based on patient acuity / Common Patient Population: Abdominal pain, diabetes complications, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, hypertension, and general emergency presentations / Drips: Standard emergency department medications and vasoactive drips as required / RT Equipment: Ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow Oxygen, and respiratory support available with RT coverage 24/7 / Charge Nurse: Charge nurse available and may take patient assignments as needed / Support Staff: ER technicians assist with triage, patient care, and unit support duties / Monitoring: No monitor techs; RNs must independently read and interpret telemetry and EKG rhythms / Physician Coverage: Emergency physicians and advanced practice providers available per facility / Lab Responsibilities: RNs will be trained to perform Point-of-Care laboratory testing / Scheduling: Leadership-created schedule based on department needs; 12-hour shifts / Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend / Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday / Floating: Required to float throughout all Zone 4 Emergency Departments, including Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital (Ulysses), St. Catherine Dodge City, and St. Catherine Garden City. No home-base facility assignment / Call Requirement: None / Orientation: 12-hour facility orientation plus 2–3 days unit-specific orientation / Scrubs: Navy Blue / Additional: Travelers must be willing to float throughout the entire Zone 4 region within a 60-mile radius of Garden City, KS. Housing must accommodate float requirements. Candidates will interview with the Medical Solutions Clinical Team only; no unit manager interview. Travelers must be in-state during orientation week even if initial modules are completed remotely. First facility assignment will be communicated on or before the Monday start date.
