Description

Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Location: Omaha, NE
Start Date: December 8, 2025
Duration: 13 Weeks

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all nuclear medicine procedures in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals while ensuring proper radiation safety standards are maintained.
  • Operate and maintain nuclear medicine imaging equipment, including Siemens PET/CT Biograph Vision and Siemens E.CAM systems.
  • Verify patient identification, obtain relevant medical history, and explain procedures to ensure patient comfort and understanding.
  • Monitor patients during imaging and respond appropriately to any complications or reactions.
  • Ensure proper documentation of procedures, doses, and patient information within the Epic EMR system.
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with federal and state radiation safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services.
  • Support and adhere to hospital infection control and patient safety protocols, including the fingernail policy prohibiting artificial nails.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of nuclear imaging techniques, radiopharmaceutical handling, and radiation safety.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and able to maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Siemens imaging systems preferred but training provided for qualified candidates.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Active Nuclear Medicine Technologist License (State of Nebraska or Compact equivalent).
  • BLS (AHA) – required.
  • DOT Certification – preferred at start; required upon contract extension (within 90 days).
  • Radiation Badge – provided by the facility.
