Job Title: Registered Nurse – Telemetry (Surgical/Neuro)
Location: Bakersfield, CA
Start Date: December 8, 2025
Duration: 16 Weeks

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care to telemetry, surgical, and neurological patients including orthopedic, spinal, and post-operative cases.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips and respond appropriately to changes in cardiac rhythms.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, including fixed-rate drips such as Diltiazem.
• Manage a patient load with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio, ensuring quality and timely care.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare staff to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on treatment, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner EMR.
• Support a safe, clean, and organized environment while complying with infection control and hospital safety standards.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience in a Telemetry or Surgical/Neuro setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring required.
• Experience with orthopedic and neurological post-surgical patients preferred.
• Proficiency in Cerner EMR is highly recommended due to limited orientation time.
• Excellent critical-thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California or compact state (current and unrestricted).
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – required.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – required.
