Unit Notes
Department: ICU RN
*Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS & TNCC / TCAR / or experience with the care of trauma patients*
NO CLINICAL INVOLVEMENT

FIT TESTING / FACIAL HAIR- Please note, if a clinician for this facility has facial hair, they will be required to pass the either the Primary or Secondary fit test (3M Aura 1860 sm or reg/3M 1870 ). If unable to pass - A Portacount test would be required, which CANNOT be completed on clinicians with facial hair & PAPR CANNOT be completed on site solely due to failing because of facial hair - contract would be canceled if facial hair cannot be removed.

- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 depending on acuity
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: DKA, sepsis pts, respiratory failure, cardiac(rate and rhythm control), medical detox, art lines, CVP
- Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Those typical to an ICU
- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: No- ER is in charge of ICU
- Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: No
- RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: Nasal cannula to vent
- Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: RN required to read and interpret
- Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 7-7 // director makes schedule
- Weekend Requirements: Will work where there is a need
- Holiday Requirements: Will work where there is a need
- Floating Requirements: MS or ER (for 1:1)
- Scrub Color: Navy
- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 3- 12 hour shifts
- Additional Notes: Attributes that make a nurse successful in this unit include coachability, motivation, ability to understand and coach unsafe situations, and team work

Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
