Department: PCU
*Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS*
Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
**Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract
* * RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated * *
**Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.**
- Beds: 35
- Ratios: 1:4-5
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults and geriatrics, Cardiac, nephrology, stokes, DM, continuous EEG monitoring
- Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Cardizem, betablockers, seizure medications
- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Charge Nurse
- Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: 1:10 or 2:20
- Shifts & Scheduling: 0630-1900, 1830-0700
- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirements: Every third
- Is there call or a standby requirement?: No
- Floating Requirements: Medical floors, ICU, or rehab
- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: First week is onboarding and then 1-2 days of orientation on the floor
- Additional Notes: This is a fast paced floor, Attributes that will help a nurse be successful on this unit are a positive attitude, helping others, good communication skills, critical thinking, and the ability to problem solve
Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidate may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
